Nifaiya Robinson sets record, Myles Misener-Daley wins second event at Legion Nationals

Nifaiya Robinson set a record and Myles Misener-Daley won his second event Saturday at the 2017 National Legion Track and Field Championships.

Robinson, running for Team Ontario, won the midget (15 and under) boys 300m final in a time of 34.62 seconds. The Sherwood Secondary School student finished nearly a second and a half ahead of runner-up Joe Bernard Ezzeddine of Team Quebec. The previous record, which Robinson also beat in his heat Friday, was 35.41.

Robinson was also a member of the gold medal-winning 4x100m Team Ontario team along with Jean-Luc Foudy, Abdullahi Hassan and Marcus Renford.

Misener-Daley followed up his youth (17 and under) boys 100m win Friday with a gold-medal run in the 400m. The Westdale student and west Mountain resident ran the final in 48.08 seconds, more than a second ahead of second-place Sheldon Louza of Calgary.

He was also a member of the silver medalist Hamilton Olympic Club 4x100m team along with Randy Tshikuna, Marqus Rookwood and Daunte Henriques. 

Misener-Daley, who was the junior boys 100m, 200m and 400m champion at the OFSAA high school championships in June, runs in the 200m today.
