Re: Falls fencing is expensive joke on taxpayers’ dime (Letters, Aug. 3).

Sorry, but I cannot agree. The ones who break the law are the ones not using common sense and they are starting to receive fines, thank goodness.

The letter-writer must have had crossed eyes when he wrote his letter. Nowhere did he ever see a price of $1 million for a new set of stairs to the bottom of the falls. Please read it again and remove a few of the zeros and you will be closer to the estimated cost.

I agree we need the stairs a lot more than we need the LRT. It may be a while before we get them, though I hope not.
