LETTER: I find Hamilton one of the best places to live

Re: Hamilton plummets down list of 'best places to live’ (July 13)

I find the list of "best places to live" in Canada to be very misleading. I question some of the results as they tend to list cities who are ranked as having "high wealth and incomes" listed as one of the top three criteria. Perhaps living in Burlington, Oakville or Oak Bay would be very difficult if you did not have a higher than average income.

To get a more accurate understanding of where the best place to live in Canada, you have to look at what is important to you. Money Sense magazine's website lets you do this.

It is worth a visit if you want to find out the best place to live for you personally. Do you want a good public transport or are you happy to drive everywhere? How affordable is the housing? How much green space is there within the city limits?

Hamilton is a great place to live. It's more affordable than some of the cities ranked higher up the list. The city has great public transportation, it's very walkable, it has lots of natural beauty and many interesting neighbourhoods to explore. The health care in the city is also top-notch.

I love Hamilton!
