Council right to fight Canada Post

Open letter to council:

Thank you for taking Canada post to court. Canada Post says that it consulted with residents about the new mailboxes.  They asked if we wanted a lot of mailboxes close to our houses or just a few boxes spread further apart. I just asked them to shovel the snow all the way from my house to the new boxes.

They did not ask us if we wanted the new boxes or continue to receive mail at out houses. I am sure we all would have chosen the latter.

I recently told them that I purchased my house because it included mail delivery to the house. I refused to even look at houses that did not have home delivery.

I asked them to refund my original purchase price for the house. As yet there is no reply.

They have told me that they are not responsible for clearing the snow from my house to the new mailboxes. They told me that I am required to sue the City of Hamilton, or the property owner, if I am hurt getting my mail for lost wages, as this will not be covered by worker’s compensation.
