Tim Hortons has brought its famous brew to the Winona Crossing shopping centre.

Canada’s iconic coffee and doughnut chain opened at the centre on the corner of Fifty and South Service roads on July 24 and marks the second location for Winona, after the first one opened at 1242 Hwy. 8 in December 2000.

The Tims – located in front of Sleep Country and Starbucks – features a modern design and colour scheme and has all of the traditional favourites and newer items.

It offers hot and cold beverages, baked goods and snacks, sandwiches and wraps, salads and sides, soups and hot bowls and 100 per cent plant-based Beyond Meat items.

There’s also a drive-thru with digital menu boards.

Franchisee Chris Mattatall says the location is backed by a great team supported by an experienced manager and assistant manager.

He knows all about Tim Hortons and serving the community.

Mattatall runs several other Tims in Hamilton.

He also opened the first one in Winona nearly 19 years ago.

Mattatall said the team is very excited to be part of the Winona Crossing shopping centre.

It’s hard to believe the opening of the first Tim Hortons in Winona was so long ago, he said.

“The development at Winona Crossing was a perfect site for Tims,” Mattatall said, when asked about adding a second location in Winona. “The recent growth in housing also contributed to our decision.”
