Dundas Cactus Festival Parade raffle final tickets available

News Jul 17, 2017 by Craig Campbell Dundas Star News

Dundas Cactus Festival Parade committee chair Donna Lavin-Graham said there are still a few tickets left this week for the event’s first fundraising raffle.

The organization is making a final push to sell those last remaining raffle tickets before the Saturday, July 29 draw and launch event at the Village Bakery. The event starts at 12:30 p.m. and features a magic show.

Lavin-Graham said limited tickets are still available at The Keeping Room, Kids ‘n Krafts, Canadian Tire and Village Bakery.

The first-time effort, the Toys for Tunes raffle, is raising money for parade organizers to pay the bands and performers that are among the highlights of the parade. It’s also an effort to get more kids involved and increase local anticipation for the event, set to go on Thursday, Aug. 17.

A total of only 1,000 tickets were to be sold. Prizes related to this year’s toys and games parade theme have been donated by Canadian Tire and other local organizations.

The annual parade is organized and funded separately from the three-day Cactus Festival.
