Police also received reports of a woman in her 20s being taken against her will by the men, who took off in a dark-coloured vehicle and later fled from police on the Queen Elizabeth Way near Fifty Road. Officers continued to gather information from witnesses throughout the morning to confirm the validity of the reported information.

The male employee was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover.

A 20-year-old Hamilton man has been charged with fleeing from police and driving while disqualified.
