News Jan 11, 2017 by Mark Newman Hamilton Mountain News

The new Mountain writing club has a home.

Group organizer Barry Gottlieb said the club will meet twice a month at Neighbour to Neighbour Centre on Athens Street starting Feb. 9 at 2 p.m.

“I’m excited about it,” said the retired university professor. “They have a great book store there.”

There are no fees and anyone seeking more information is asked to contact Gottlieb at

Gottlieb said since word of the fledgling club was reported in the Mountain News he has received enquiries from 27 people who expressed interested in taking part.

He’s hoping the club will become a venue where writers and budding writers can share ideas and attend workshops on subjects such as writing blocks, creative writing, short stories, fiction and non-fiction and novel writing.

Neighbour to Neighbour Centre executive director Denise Arkell said the writing club is a good way to introduce more people to the west Mountain centre
