Mail delivery may continue for some homes on Hamilton Mountain

Door-to-door mail delivery on the Mountain ends July 17 — except for one area around Mohawk College. A small cluster of homes may continue to receive home delivery because of roadwork on West 5th Street. The location for their super mailbox is on a section of Monarch Road which is being used as a staging area during the roadwork and has yet to be installed.

“Safety always comes first,” says Canada Post spokesman Jon Hamilton. The Crown corporation is looking for a temporary location to use until the construction is completed.

“If we cannot find a suitable location before July 20th we will continue door to door delivery and convert once we can install the boxes,” says Hamilton.
