Robert Pasuta named new Hamilton Conservation Area chair

Councillor Robert Pasuta has been acclaimed chairman of the Hamilton Conservation Authority board.

A resident of Flamborough, Pasuta was first appointed to the conservation authority’s board of directors in 2007 as a city councillor member. He was elected as city councillor for Ward 14 in 2006 and is now in his third term. He and his family run a 300-acre farm in Flamborough.

In addition to the conservation authority and city council committees, he sits on the executive on the Golden Horseshoe Food and Farming Alliance, and has served on the board of directors of the Greenbelt Foundation.

Santina Moccio, a citizen member of the board of directors, was acclaimed vice-chair. Other members elected to the committee were Dan Bowman, Councillor Doug Conley, Councillor Lloyd Ferguson and Councillor Robert Pasuta. Maria Topalovic was re-elected as chair of the conservation advisory board. Other members of the advisory board are Bowman, David Rodgers, Kris Brown and Brad Gautreau. Gautreau and Brown are both new citizen appointees to the board.
