Police on hunt for three suspects after Mountain stabbing

Hamilton police are on the lookout for three suspects after a man was stabbed in the area of Upper Gage Avenue and Mohawk Road on May 31.

Spokesperson Const. Stephen Welton said two men were walking in the area just after 2:30 a.m. when a vehicle approached them and three men got out to confront them. The confrontation turned physical and one of them was stabbed in the chest with an unknown weapon.

The victim was taken to hospital with a serious, but non-life-threatening injury. He was later released.

The suspects are described as non-white, all about five foot 10 and weighing between 180 to 200 pounds. They were driving a silver-coloured four-door vehicle.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crime or knows anything about the incident to call Det. Sorbara, of the criminal investigation branch, at 905-546-4930 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
