Brebeuf student arrested after another stabbed in school fight

One youth has been taken into police custody, while another is in hospital with non life-threatening stab wounds after a fight between students at St. Jean de Brébeuf Catholic Secondary School.

EMS platoon commander Ian Wright said the student has been taken to hospital with non life-threatening stab wounds.

No one else was injured, he said.

The mountain school was initially placed in a hold and secure, while Hamilton police located the suspect, who was arrested shortly before 1:30 p.m., media officer Const. Steve Welton said on Twitter.

Everyone is accounted for and there is no threat to the community, he said.

Multiple students from the school are tweeting about the stabbing, including one who posted a photo of blood splattered on the floor.
