Traffic calming measures are being installed to slow traffic on a popular shortcut through the Kernighan neighbourhood between Upper James and West 5th.

Four speed humps and a four-way stop will be installed by summer on three streets — Blossom, Forbes and Citino — motorists use to avoid traffic on the two main streets.

The idea received little objection at a public meeting Wednesday night. The meeting was called as a followup to a neighbourhood survey which showed support for the traffic calming measures.

By summer, speed humps will be in place on Blossom, Forbes and Citino. A four-way stop is being installed at the intersection of Citino and Stone Pine/Fortissimo.
