Can the Sherwood Saints make it three public high school junior football championships in a row?

They’ll find out tomorrow (Friday) when the Saints take on the Westdale Warriors in the Division 1 final.

Kick-off is 1:30 p.m. at Ivor Wynne Stadium.

At Westmount last Friday, the Saints, who won the Division 2 title the past two seasons, upset the favoured Wildcats 10-7 in semi-final action.

Sherwood’s defence kept the normally dominant Westmount running attack in check for most of the game.

Mike Ciavarella scored a touchdown on a pass and run from quarterback Zack Howard and Jeff Beattie kicked a 25 yard field goal for Sherwood.

In the other semi-final Westdale edged Churchill 18-13.

The Division 2 final sees Highland face Glendale at 3:30 p.m. on Friday at Ivor Wynne Stadium.

Highland hammered Hill Park 59-7 and Glendale beat Barton 22-19 in semi-final action last week.
