May showers brought with them a new record for Hamilton.

The soggy month led to the breaking of the 2004 rainfall and total precipitation records of 137.6 millimetres by more than 15 per cent. Normal for the city is 85 millimetres.

In general, regions in southern and northwestern Ontario were wetter than normal.

Locations such as Windsor and Sarnia received more than twice the normal rainfall and/or precipitation amounts for the month.
