Racers make the grade at OFSAA

Kent Hambly of Ancaster High finished 13th in the Midget boys 5,000-metre race at the Ontario high school cross-country championships to lead his team to third place overall out of 39 competing schools.

Ryan McGuire, Jonathan Rynne, Brett McGuire and Aaron Taylor rounded out the third-place team, the only runners representing Ancaster High at the provincial championship.

Marisa Codispodi was Bishop Tonnos’ top finisher, earning 59th spot in the Midget girls 3,000 metres. Becky Morrison also represented Tonnos in the Midget girls run, while Maggie Szkarlat, Janie O’Brien, Erin Bethune and Kristy Kastelie competed in the Senior girls 5,000-metre race.
