Man survives plunge off Highway 403 overpass

A 32-year-old man has survived after plunging off a Highway 403 overpass at Golf Links Road at 12:30 p.m. last Thursday afternoon.

Hamilton police media relations officer Sergeant Terri-Lynn Collings said the man was not struck by any vehicles after falling onto the highway.

He was transported to Hamilton General Hospital trauma centre in serious condition. His injuries are considered non life threatening.

Police closed the westbound 403 at Aberdeen Avenue for several hours. One eastbound lane was also closed.

Traffic restrictions were also in effect on Golf Links Road and Southcote Road.

Hamilton paramedics reported the patient was conscious and alert before being taken to hospital.
