Civitans launch new year of service

Dundas Civitans recently launched a new year of activity with the installation of their 2010 board of directors.

Outgoing club president Ron Genereaux passed the gavel to Robin Gruenwald.

Joining him on the board will be Mr. Genereaux, Peter and Audrey Stone, Dave Morden, Dave Shingler, Elizabeth Matthews, John Wilkins, Bruce Davey and Marlene Morrison.

Canadian Civitan Governor Norma Johnston was on hand to conduct the installation.

Civitan of the Year

Another highlight of the event was the presentation of the Doug MacRae Civitan of the Year Award to Elizabeth Matthews.

Chief among the club’s accomplishments over the past year was discharging the mortgage on Civitan Place, home of the Dundas Learning Centre.

In November of 2010 the service club will mark the 20th anniversary of its charter.
