Twenty-two -year-old Stefan Poper enjoys poring over websites looking for travel ideas and booking information.

He also knows it’s not a task everyone savours.

That’s where the young entrepreneur and his new business can help.

“We offer an information service which helps take the hassle out of travel planning for those who are too busy, who don’t know where to even begin looking or for whatever the reason, they would enjoy having someone take care of this for them,” said Stefan.

A lifelong Ancaster resident and graduate of Mohawk College’s marketing program, Stefan said he has always wanted to operate his own business but never really developed a concrete idea about what the enterprise might be.

Last year, however, the concept for CityPlanit.com crystallized while Stefan was planning a trip for himself. He enjoyed the search process, but started to think about those who aren’t quite so computer literate, or don’t have the time or inclination to seek out travel information.

After further investigating the potential success for a web-based travel consulting business, Stefan said he realized that while there are countless websites for travel ideas and booking, there isn’t a site that did the searching for clients.

“CityPlanit does not claim to find places that nobody else will, or provide details which customers would never find on their own, but rather is available to help,” said Stefan.

The first step is filling out a brief information form, After discovering a clients’ preferences, CityPlanit provides customized hotel, restaurant and entertainment recommendations in an easy to follow CityPlan.

“On top of being able to offer a service which helps our customers make the most of their travels, being able to offer a service which saves them time is a huge bonus,” said Stefan.

“We want our customers to enjoy their trip, regardless if it is for business or pleasure so we find hotels, restaurants and entertainment ideas which best fit their preferences.
