The arts and cultural scene has been exploding in downtown Hamilton. Whether you love theatre or dance, music or visual art, modern or classical, the scene has come alive. One key event which has drawn great media attention and thousands of participants is the James Street North Art Crawl.Art Crawl is monthly event held on the second Friday of each month. Dozens of galleries and studios launch new exhibitions, musicians perform in the street, local artist sell their wares, the Art Bus delivers visitors from far and wide – and hundreds of people fill the sidewalks as they weave through the event.This year, in celebration of the collective success of this bourgeoning neighbourhood, James Street North is hosting Supercrawl Friday (Oct. 9).James Street North, between Cannon and Wilson, will be closed to allow throngs of people to fill the streets and freely enjoy the area.There will also be a flat bed truck equipped to present an incredible music show coordinated by Sonic Unyon, CFMU, C101.5, and numerous other local musicians of every variety.Add local artists and organizations sharing info and selling work, unique food offerings from area restaurants, a food drive by Hamilton Food Share and plenty of spontaneous activity – and you’ve got Supercrawl.The musical acts playing:Outdoor Stages7-11 p.m. Hidden Cameras, Ohbijou, Jeremy Fisher, John Ellison, The Marble Index, Annie Shaw, Terra Lightfoot and Cowlick.Dr Disc stage(behind 20 Wilson Street) Lee Reed,  Olenka and the Autumn Lovers, Eccodek and Koushik.Afterparties11 p.m. onwards This Ain’t HollywoodThe C + C Music Festival,  presented by CFMU and INDI101, featuring Live How We Live, Sandman Viper Command, Vanishers.Upper Management/Hidden Pony at Sonic UnyonThe Sonic Unyon building, 2nd floor studio (22 Wilson Street) featuring Hannah Georgas,  Jeremy Fisher, Said The Whale and more.  (RSVP only show - please email info@hiddenpony.ca)Beauty IndustriesElectronic StageTHE Harvest Moon Restaurant Concert Hall, 80 James St. North, 2nd Floor) features Bocce, Electroluminescent, Handsome Sultan   and Ollie.
