LCBO stores raise funds

Starting Aug. 1, the public can help support the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Ontario by making a donation at any one of the more than 600 LCBO stores in Ontario.

Donation boxes will be displayed at all checkout counters until Aug. 31.

SB&H is the leading charitable organization in Ontario providing direct support, guidance and comprehensive information to thousands of families who are impacted by the unique challenges of spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus. Spina bifida is the number one permanently disabling birth defect in Canada.

SB&H is one of 26 provincial, along with numerous local, charities that will benefit from the LCBO’S province-wide donation box program in 2010. In 2009, LCBO raised a total of $4.2 million for charities through special programs and initiatives. Some $3.8 million was raised through in-store fundraising.
