Hamilton and Burlington’s premier pet event, the Wiggle Waggle Walkathon, raised $125,000.

The amount breaks the previously held record of $105,000 set in 2007.

“We’re so grateful for the support the community has given us once again this year in terms of both pledges and participation,” said Jacqueline Roth, VP and director of development, HBSPCA. This year’s event had more than 2,600 participants who enjoyed perfect autumn weather and dozens of entertaining activities and the ever-popular Vendors Marketplace.

The Hamilton Burlington SPCA is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Wiggle Waggle Walkathon.

“That is what makes setting this new record even more special. It happened in our anniversary year and is a credit to our entire staff and the dozens of volunteers who made the event the biggest and best ever,” said Ms. Roth.

Proceeds from pledges raised support the many adoption and education programs offered by the Hamilton Burlington SPCA. The SPCA is a registered charity and receives no funding from any level of government. For more information log on to www.hbspca.com .
