Open house offers icing on the cake

News Sep 25, 2009 Ancaster News

Cake watching is big this year...very big...as many people tune in to television’s Cake Boss, Charm City Cakes and the TLC cake bakeoffs.

Now residents can see cake designers right in their own backyard.

The second annual Cake Exhibition of the newly formed Cake Spotters Guild hosts open house Sunday, Sept. 27 from 10:30 a. m. to 3 p. m. If you are in the market for a wedding or celebration cake, this is your opportunity to meet several designers and see cakes on display. There will also be a CD presentation from The Magnificent Mile Sugar Art Gallery featured at the 2009 International Cake Exploration Societé held in St. Charles, Illinois last month. There will be demonstrations of sugar art and an opportunity to discuss cake decorating lessons and the guild.

The event is free and takes place at The School House, 635 York Rd., Dundas. Look for the Let Them Eat Cakes sign at the end of the driveway.

For more information call June at 905-627-3196 or Lynne at 905-296-3223 or email junelynch@picturepcakeart.com
