Ancaster hoopster Nick Fadayel named Mohawk’s Male Athlete of the Week

Nick Fadayel of the Mohawk Mountaineers men’s basketball team was recently named Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Male Athlete of the Week. Fadayel played a remarkable game against the Sheridan Bruins.

After three overtime periods, the Ancaster native registered 38 points on the game contributing to the Mountaineers’ 122-115 win over third place Sheridan in Oakville, Feb. 6.

The 237 points also set a new OCAA record for total points in a game by two teams, erasing the mark of 233 set between George Brown and Humber Jan. 9, 1974.
