Rotary seeks candidates to visit Central America

News Sep 04, 2009 Ancaster News

Every year, Rotary Districts throughout the world sponsor an exchange for young people ages 25 to 40. The district covers Western New York and Southern Ontario, from Jamestown, New York, to Brantford. This year, Rotary District 7090 will exchange with a Rotary District in Central America involving the countries of Belize and Guatemala.

Team members from any profession will get the opportunity to learn about their own profession in Central America and the culture of the area. Almost all of the costs involved – transportation and accommodation and meals – are provided by The Rotary International Foundation. Team members are responsible for visas, inoculations and spending money.

Team members should be Canadian citizens in good health, comfortable as part of a team with a demanding schedule, and be able to obtain an employer’s consent for the length of the exchange.

More information about the exchange can be obtained from Allyson Wenzowski at awenzowski1@cogeco.ca or the web-site www.rotary7090.org . Applications should be submitted by Oct. 16.
