The Hamilton Burlington SPCA hopes you and your very special pet will Share The Love and become an active volunteer in the Pet Encounter Therapy Program.

The SPCA is looking to expand the program to meet the need in the community for the companionship and compassion shown by pet therapy friends. The SPCA invites anyone with a loving, good-natured and obedient dog to become a volunteer and join in helping a variety of special needs children and adults. Regular visits by you and your dog and other cool critters can make a positive difference in the people’s lives. Regular visits currently take place at more than 30 locations, and many more are on a waiting list.

All pet and handler teams are assessed prior to participation. You and your dog will be assessed for temperament, responses to new and unusual stimuli and your ability to work as a team. Call Wendy Ryan at 905-574-7722, Ext. 304 or email wryan@hbspca.com .
