The Bishop Tonnos Titans senior girls basketball team capped another successful year with a trip to the Golden Horseshoe Athletic Conference championships.

The Titans’ season ended with a 53-46 loss at GHAC to Burlington’s Notre Dame Secondary, which ended BT’s hopes of an OFSAA berth.

Despite leading 22- 21 at halftime, the Titans failed to keep pace with Notre Dame’s explosive second half offense.

The Irish went on a 17-3 run and never looked back to secure an OFSAA appearance.

Bishop Tonnos’ 11-2 regular season record was good for second overall in the HWCAA. The Titans registered the most points scored per game in the regular season, averaging more than 53 points per contest.

After beating Cardinal Newman 66-28 in the quarterfinal and defeating St. Thomas More in the semis, BT lost the Catholic championship to St. Mary’s, but still qualified to compete at GHAC.
