Dundas Cactus Parade Committee extends thanks

News Aug 20, 2009 Ancaster News

The Dundas Pipe Band, Honorary Parade Marshal performers of Theatre Aquarius, led the annual parade through a generous and supporting crowd all along the parade route, in spite of the very warm weather.

On behalf of the Dundas Cactus Parade Committee I would like to extend our sincere thanks to all parade participants, volunteers, marshals, escorts, judges including Connie Smith, banner carriers, photographers, Milica Pavlica, Steve Barton and the Toonie Collectors and Team Scotia, Community of Dundas/City of Hamilton work crews, the Police, Dundas residents and businesses.

Special thanks to Councillor Russ Powers, Arlene MacFarlane, Bill Westoby, Ruthlyn, Rita May, Duncan, Adrian, Jeff, Rhianna, Marissa and Leah, for their tireless effort in preparation of this much loved community event.

We thank everyone for their generous contributions, making this year’s TOONIE Collection a success and invite anyone wishing to make a donation to the Band Fund to mail or drop it off at 42 Cross St., Dundas, L9H 2R7.

A very special thanks to all of our sponsors and donors, and to The Dundas Star News, whose generous and continued support make the parade a reality.

If you are interested in participating with any of the many aspects of the Cactus Parade, or joining our January Beach Dance Committee, please call Donna Graham at 905-628-0838 for information. Details can be found at www.dundascactusparade.com

Sincere thanks to all, see you next year!
