News Oct 15, 2009 Ancaster News

Ancaster High School is very excited to welcome its first multicultural Mosaic celebration.

Mosaic’s objective is to positively promote the variety of cultures that make up the school, yet come together as a whole.

Students and teachers were inspired to adapt Jimmy Carter’s beautiful mosaic idea built upon by different beliefs, yearnings, hopes and dreams, and make it into a memorable event and learning experience for Ancaster High.

Starting on Monday, Oct. 19, the student body, along with homeroom teachers, will engage in events focusing on multiculturalism that will run throughout the week.

The first event is the kickoff parade that will include a float from every homeroom class representing a different

culture. Followed by the parade, there will be an assembly on Tuesday with influential guest speakers, an international sports festival on Wednesday, a multicultural fashion show on Thursday night, and finally, an ethnic celebration feast on Friday.

Ancaster High looks forward to opening people’s eyes and hearts to the vast spectrum of differing ways of life.
