Hamilton Mountain Farmers’ Market still awaiting approvals

During a normal, non-pandemic year the Hamilton Mountain Farmers’ Market would be heading into its third week.

But the popular market that sets up in the parking lot Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Viewpoint and Mountain Park avenues on Saturday mornings from May to November has yet to open as of the June 1.

“We’re still seeking various approvals,” said Chuck Emberson, chair of the Hamilton Mountain Farmers’ Market subcommittee.

Emberson, who has a few farmers lined up, is hopeful the market will return sometime this month.

“It will be preorder curbside pickup to start,” Emberson said.

Early season offerings in the past have included some greens, garlic, fiddleheads, garlic, maple syrup, eggs and hot house vegetables with more produce added during the growing season.
