The community is invited to a local discussion on climate change.
Jim Sweetman, a founding member of Dundas Works, wants a positive action plan to help the city realize the climate change goals it recently proposed.
“Many of us are experiencing a range of feelings about the current climate situation – confusion, anxiety, frustration, grief. It seems there is no shortage of information about our predicament,” Sweetman said. “While it is encouraging to hear about the many individual actions people are taking, there is less conversation about actions being taken on a community-wide basis.”
Dundas Works hosts the roundtable on Tuesday, Feb. 11, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dundas Salvation Army on 150 King St. W. This meeting marks the group’s tenth in an ongoing series of community discussions, with the aim to articulate a collective vision for Dundas and work together to make it happen.
“The topic for discussion is how we as a community can take action to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030,” said Sweetman. “We hope that the roundtable will identify ideas where we can work together as a community to make a significant difference.”
