Winona Peach Festival gets juicier, cooler thanks to local Tim Hortons

The Winona Peach Festival has a new and refreshing treat for the community.

The festival is teaming up with Tim Hortons and Winona franchisee Chris Mattatall to offer a Peach chill slushy.

The slushy will be available at Tims’ 1242 Highway 8 and Winona Crossing shopping centre locations beginning Aug. 21 — and while supplies last — in lead up to the 52nd Winona Peach Festival Aug. 23 to 25 at Winona Park.

Festival grants, social media and sponsorship chair Debbie Bramer says Tim Hortons has been an event sponsor for a few years and is always looking for new and innovative ways to work with the community.

“Chris also has been involved for many, many years as one of our sponsors on the draw,” she said. “It’s always exciting when we can work directly with local-based businesses and do something that’s out of the ordinary for many of our attendees and the local community.”

Mattatall said Tims is honoured and thrilled to provide something special for the Winona Peach Festival, which is a beloved and long-standing tradition.

The festival is a great event for families and raises money for the community, he said.

“This is the first Peach chill ever created by Tim Hortons and made for the Winona community to complement the Winona Peach Festival,” Mattatall said. “If it’s a success, we hope to do it again next year.”
