Some businesses on Concession Street will be more accessible in the coming weeks thanks to Mohawk College students.

The college is giving some of the businesses portable ramps for their storefronts.

Made of repurposed and recycled materials, the first ramp was delivered to the Concession Street Business Improvement Area office earlier this week.

BIA executive director Cristina Geissler said the ramps are custom-made for the grading of each property.

“The Concession BIA is committed to making our shopping corridor a safe, inclusive and accessible space for all our visitors wherever possible,” Geissler said.
