Robert Heppenstall wins third-straight OFSAA 800m

Robert Heppenstall won his third straight OFSAA 800m.

His time of 1:50.15 in the senior boys 800m was more than three seconds better than the second-place runner, but was more than two seconds off his personal best of 1:47.91.

The win brings Heppenstall’s high school championship medal haul to a total of four gold and a silver.  The St. Thomas More student also won the junior boys 800m in 2013 and senior boys 800m last year. As a Grade 9 student won the midget boys 400m; the next year he earned silver.

Heppenstall also qualified for OFSAA in the 400m this year. He finished fourth. 

Heppenstall is attending Wake Forest University, an NCAA Division 1 school located in Winston-Salem, N.C., this fall on a full athletic scholarship.
