The London Majors spoiled the Hamilton Cardinals’ home opener Friday.

The visiting team left Bernie Arbour Stadium with a 8-2 win.

On Sunday, the defending Intercounty Baseball League champion Barrie Baycats edged the Cards 6-4.

The Cards are playing without the services of catcher Zack Sardellitti and outfielder Dre Celestijn for at least another week. The Davenport University players have advanced with their team to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics World Series tournament.

Next up for the 1-3 Cardinals is a Friday night visit from the Brantford Red Sox (1-1), followed by road games in Barrie and Toronto the next two afternoons.
