Hamilton VON needs volunteers

VON Hamilton is looking for volunteers for all of its community support programs. Anyone interested in helping out is asked to attend the next orientation session, May 27, at 2:30 pm. Call 905-522-0053 to register.

Volunteers are needed for the following programs:

VON Meals On Wheels: Drivers and servers are needed to help deliver meals to elderly or disabled clients. Drivers are reimbursed for their mileage.

VON Volunteer Visiting: Volunteers needed that are interested in visiting seniors and adults with disabilities in their homes once a week, in all areas of the city. Education provided. Truck drivers are also needed one day a week for three hours from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Congregate Dining: Volunteers needed to take clients to lunch out program every other Tuesday and help with lunch.

Medical Transportation: Drivers needed to take senior to medical appointments.

VON Hospice Volunteer Service: Volunteers are needed to provide care for people with life threatening illness. Volunteers provide assistance and support to individuals and families in their home or other settings.

Tele-Touch: Volunteers are needed to make reassuring phone calls to seniors and adults with disabilities living independently in their homes. Calls help to alleviate social isolation and add to clients’ safety.
