Hamilton Bengals drop two on the road

The Hamilton Bengals had a tough weekend on the road, dropping both Jr. B  lacrosse contests.

The Bengals had built a solid lead in the second period Saturday night against Elora, going up 8-4 at one point, before the Mohawks stormed back for a 12-9 win.

Ryan Coulter whad three goals for Hamilton, Ryan Smith and Josh Bryers had two each and Mason Wright scored once.

In Welland Sunday, the Bengals got off to a slow start, falling behind 6-0 before they started scoring. The comeback fell short, as the Generals hung on for an 8-6 win. Smith led the Bengals with a hat trick, while Jordan Gillis, Bryce Mayea and Jack McIsaac added one goal each.

The Bengals, who now sport a 3-6 record, host the St. Catharines Spartan at the Dave Andrychuk-Mountain Arena tonight (Thursday) at 8 p.m. The team is 2-1 at home and play seven of the next 11 games at home.
