The Hamilton Bengals stormed out to a 6-0 lead in their Jr. B home opener Friday night against the Welland Generals and never looked back.

The Bengals roughed up the Generals 14-5 to win their first game of the young season. Their record is now 1-2.

Mason Wright had four goals to pace the Bengals. Bryce Mayea had three, Ryan Couylter and Ryan Smith each had two and Jack McIsaac, Ethan Finlay and Jordan Gillis had a goal apiece.

The Bengals host the Owen Sound NorthStars Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Dave Andreychuk-Mountain Arena.
