Barrie physiotherapist named lead practitioner for Pan Am soccer

A local physiotherapist has been named the lead medical practitioner for soccer at the 2015 Pan Am Games.

Thomas Swales works as senior therapist at Concept of Movement Sports Performace and Rehabilitation Centre on Bradford Street in Barrie and was asked to head to Hamilton in July to help athletes in the CIBC Pan Am Soccer Stadium.

The 2015 Pan Am Games takes place July 10 to 26.

Swales and wife Kylee founded Concept of Movement in 2010 and the business was a finalist in last year’s Greater Barrie and District Chamber of Commerce business awards for service excellence.

Swales enjoys treating sports-related injuries and spent two years with the Canadian alpine ski team as a physiotherapist, working with Olympic athletes.
