Sherwood, RHLI concert to help fund Nathan Cirillo Award

The Royal Hamilton Light Infantry band will join the student musicians of Sherwood Secondary School for a concert to support the new Nathan Cirillo Award.

Cirillo, a member of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders who was killed Oct. 22 while guarding the National War Memorial in Ottawa, was a student at Sherwood.

The proceeds from the concert will help set up a commemorative award to be given out in his name to a deserving student.

The joint concert is March 12 at 8 p.m. at Sherwood, 25 High St.

Admission is free and any donations collected will be put toward the award.
