Cardinal Heights celebrates 50th

Cardinal Heights elementary school is turning 50 and inviting former students, staff and the public out to celebrate on Saturday. The anniversary event runs 1-4 p.m. at the school, which is located at 70 Bobolink Rd.

Canadian Olympic hockey gold medalist Laura Fortino will be available for autographs and pictures from 1:30-3:30.

Several food trucks and a number of vendors will also be on site.

The welcoming ceremony begins at 2 p.m. and the musical talents of the Cardinal Commitments will be heard throughout the day.
