Hamilton’s Public Works Department is holding its annual one-day rain barrel sale later this month.

The city has partnered with local vendor rainbarrel.ca for the sixth annual truckload sale. It will take place April 26 from 8 a.m. until noon at Mohawk College’s Fennell Campus in the southwest parking lot.

Residents will have a choice between a new barrel which will cost $39.75 and a repurposed barrel which will cost $39.50.

For residents who are unable to attend or transport their rain barrels, the city has added a delivery option for $9.75. All deliveries are managed by the vendor and available only on pre-ordered barrels.

The city holds the sale to promote wise water use. By installing a rain barrel, residents can create their own free source of water that is ideal for vegetable gardens, trees and plants. They can also use the water to wash vehicles or water lawns.
