The ladylike handbag returns

With dining out back on the agenda, and workplaces slowly reopening, we’re getting ready to put away our practical bags (looking at you, fanny packs) and bring out the big guns this fall: the statement-making purses that tell the world what you’re all about. If you’re on the hunt for the latest and greatest, you’re in luck. This fall, designers indulged in plenty of joyful designs, from fluffy textures to boldly oversized silhouettes. Our favourite of the fall trends is the mini top-handle bag. Carrying the bare minimum never looked so elegant.

Call It Spring Sofetch Bag, $40, callitspring.com

A chunky chain handle gives this faux-croc handbag some Fall 2021 edge.

JW Pei Top Handle Bag, $112, jwpei.com

This pale sage (the colour du jour) is the perfect way to brighten up a neutral outfit.

Jacquemus Le Chiquito Long Clutch, $760, ssense.com

This longer, sleeker version of Jacquemus’ cult-fave Le Chiquito bag is sure to be another hit.

Louis Vuitton Capucines BB, $7,000, louisvuitton.com

The scrunchy handle gives this classic shape a lighthearted update.
