It's that time of year again. It's almost Lighten Up Week and time to cure the February blues with Giggles and Grins.
Hosted by the Grandmothers of Steel, a Hamilton branch of the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign, Giggles and Grins takes place at First Unitarian Church, 170 Dundurn St. S. on Saturday, Feb. 16. The event features presenters and comedians who will have audience members laughing away tension during a relaxing and fun afternoon.
Organizers Adrienne Sloan and Sharron Orovan Johnston successfully ran the First Canadian Humour Conference for years before partnering with Grandmothers of Steel four years ago.
The event now raises funds and awareness for the grandmothers of Africa at the front lines of the AIDS pandemic. All proceeds will go through the Stephen Lewis Foundation to grassroots projects helping to turn the tide of AIDS.
Cost is $25 and tickets are available by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
