Lindsay Croxall, professional actor, singer and dancer brings her experience of being on stage in Stratford, Charlottetown, Toronto and Calgary back home to Theatre Ancaster’s expanded Junior, Intermediate and Senior camps this summer.
“It’s great to be back where I first started on stage and teaching young people what I know and love,” said Croxall.
Nupi Gokhale, director of youth programming for Theatre Ancaster, said more than 70 qualified applicants vied for 30 summer camp positions, with a great mix of returning instructors and new faces.
Gokhale and camp director Krista Cranston are both pleased Croxall is available to head the expanded summer program.
“We needed someone with a love of young people who could demonstrate and motivate and work with staff and students individually and in small groups. That’s tremendously important,” said Gokhale.
“But it’s incredible to have this love paired with top professional theatre experience.”
Most Theatre Ancaster camps are full, but because of the expansion, there are some spaces remaining for the July 9-20 and the July 23-Aug. 4 camps.
Camp performances take place at The Old Firehall Arts Centre, but the expanded camps take place across the street at Ryerson United Church.
