The Hamilton fire department has organized two information sessions.

So you want to be a firefighter?

The Hamilton fire department is looking for applicants interested in a career in firefighting.

To help applicants understand the required qualifications and the recruitment process, the fire department has scheduled two career firefighter recruitment meetings. The sessions will also provide applicants the opportunity to hear from current firefighters about their profession and the steps they took to become a Hamilton firefighter.

The first meeting is Monday, June 9, from 7-9 p.m. at  the  Multi-Agency Training Centre, 1227 Stone Church Rd. E. at Nebo Rd.

A second session is Wednesday, June 11, 7 – 9 p.m. at Sir John A. MacDonald High School auditorium, 130 York Blvd.

In addition to firefighters who have recently graduated from the recruit training program, past training instructors and senior management staff from the Hamilton fire department will be on hand to provide information on the 2014 recruitment process.

Additional recruitment information is available at  www.hamilton.ca/fire and www.hamilton.ca/careers
