The inaugural Capital One Race for Kids, benefiting Boys and Girls Clubs of Hamilton raised $25,000 June 2.
Teams of five competed in 10 themed checkpoint challenges in a race to the finish line. The Hamilton event was one of 13 adventure races from coast-to-coast in support of Boys and Girls Clubs across Canada.
Designed to let participants be kids again and recreate their favourite childhood memories, the Capital One Race for Kids is a cross between Minute to Win It and The Amazing Race. Checkpoints incorporated activities that focused the mind and challenged the body. Each team was provided with 10 clues, one for each checkpoint to identify its location.
