Making wishes come true
Grade 6 students at St. Joachim School recently raised $1,500 for the Make a Wish Foundation through a school bake sale.
As part of Catholic Education Week, students took a vote to decide which charity to support and selected Make a Wish after conducting their own research. Make a Wish is active in 47 countries worldwide, granting wishes of hope, strength and joy for children with serious medical conditions.
Make a Wish has helped over 280,000 children since 1980. Make a Wish Foundation volunteer Jan Duff, shown above at centre, accepted the donation on June 7 during a school assembly.
