Wayne Smith, right, offensive lineman of the Grey Cup champion Toronto Argonauts, visited the Hamilton Back Clinic recently and brought the Grey Cup in support of the Hamilton Back Clinic Winter Coat Drive.
So far, people have donated 1,025 coats and the drive runs until Feb. 1.
Drop coats off at the clinic 1600 Rymal Rd. E. Coats are distributed as soon as they are collected. Anyone who donates two or more coats will receive a voucher for any size coffee from Elfrida Tim Hortons, a free cupcake from Beyond The Batter, a two-for-one coupon from Booster Juice – Ancaster and a voucher for free fries from A&W.
In addition, each donor will receive a raffle ticket for prizes donated Pearson Dunn Insurance, Vicars Vice, Starbucks, April Almeida of Your Choice Realty. The Back Clinic has also partnered with the Hamilton Firefighters Charity, which raises money to provide treatment for burn victims.
For every coat collected, Hamilton Back Clinic will donate $1 to the Burn Unit Fund. Coats can also be dropped off at the Winona Pearson Dunn Insurance at 1040 South Service Rd. and Studio E music school at 501 Arvin Ave. E. All Hamilton-area TD Canada Trust branches are also collecting coats.
