A heritage plaque to commemorate one of the first black settlements in Hamilton will be installed on the southeast wall of the Concession Library, 565 Concession St., Feb. 26 6-7:30 p.m. Event includes a short lecture by Adrienne Shadd, author of The Journey from Tollgate to Parkway – African Canadians in Hamilton, the unveiling of the plaque and refreshments. The program is co-sponsored by the City of Hamilton, Hamilton Historical Board and HPL.
